Ucom issues clarification on broadcasting of Vladimir Soloviev's talk-shows
YEREVAN, April 2. /ARKA/. Armenian telecommunications company Ucom denied today in a statement mass media reports, which alleged that the company has banned the broadcasts of political talk shows aired by Russia’s RTR-Planeta TV channel and hosted by pro-Kremlin propagandists Vladimir Solovyov.
"The broadcast (by Ucom) of 'Evening with Vladimir Solovyov" and "Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov" talk-shows aired by RTR-Planeta TV channel continue after they were banned by Armenian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network (TRBN), as the company retransmitted this TV channel from the national digital package,.' Ucom said.
"Although the company has not violated any law, as well as TRBN's's decisions, but striving to comply with the state standards and approaches, it decided to retransmit RTR-Planeta from the public multiplex, where the mentioned talk-shows are blocked," the statement reads.
The government –run Television and Radio Broadcasting Network, said earlier that Solovyov;s talk-shows have systematically violated a 2020 Russian-Armenian agreement that allowed the Russia-1 channel to retain its slot in Armenia’s national digital package accessible to viewers across the country.
